The Children in Need telethon takes place on Friday 18th November this year, but are you getting involved to help raise money for this worthy cause? Getting your children involved in fundraising can not only teach them about the charity, but also some important work skills. It can also be really fun! So, we’ve put together a list of fundraising ideas for you and your children to take part in this year.
Sponsored Silence – This is a favourite for parents and teachers…we can’t figure out why! Simply grab yourselves a notepad and pen and zip it! An award can be offered for whoever stays quiet for the longest.
Cake Stand – This is not only lucrative but there’s nothing better for a child than selling on the treats which they have made themselves. Why not try out these super-cute Pudsey Bear Biscuits ? Also, any kind of sales activity is great to help your child practise their maths skills!
Fancy Dress – Guaranteed fun! Ask the group to each come up with a theme, choose one at random and there you have it! Each person taking part must gather donations and you can even offer a prize for the best costume.
Treasure Hunt – How about setting up a treasure hunt for your child and their friends? All must donate to join! Top Tip: Incorporate Maths, English and Science questions into the hunt in order for them to find the treasure! Who says learning can’t be fun?
Disco Fever – Help the children to arrange their own Disco night! This can include food stalls, dance competitions and games, all donating the proceeds to the charity.
Top Tip: If you’re struggling to gather a group together in and outside of school, register your interest with us through our home page to be amongst the first to find out when the mySircles app is available.
These are just some of our fundraiser ideas, we’d love to hear what you get up to this year for Children in Need!
