Stuck on what to do this Summer?

The summer holidays are rapidly approaching – time to begin planning what to do with the kids this break. To help you out, we’ve put together a list of fun activities to keep you and the little ones busy this summer!

Get Active – Although the weather has been more than a disappointment so far this summer, it is no excuse for you and the children to stay inside. Swimming is a great way to keep fit and healthy, come rain or shine. But, if the weather’s nice, bike rides are another wonderful way to get some exercise while spending time with the kids. Why not bring along a picnic too?

Experiment – From the 25th July – 26th August, there will be a number of science summer camps dotted around the East of England. Here, your children can take part in some fun, hands on experiments and watch some great demonstrations. They will even leave the day with their own goody bag! For more information and to book, visit . There are a number of similar camps offering a variety of activities around the UK, including Fire Tech Camps (London, Manchester and Cambridge) and PGL (Scotland, Lancashire, Lincolnshire, and many more).

Jot It Down – Six weeks is a long time for our children to be out of education. Although they deserve the break, it is super important to keep their brains active. Set your children the task of writing a journal over the summer holiday, jotting down an entry once a day. This will keep their mind sharp as they use their writing skills daily.

Green Fingers- There’s nothing better than some quality time in the garden with the kids. Head down to your local garden centre for some fresh and colourful plants for you and your children to plant together. How about planting a sunflower each for a competition of the tallest?

Lemonade? – Be it a lemonade stand, car boot sale, or cake stall, getting your children to organise their own event can be massively beneficial in a number of ways. It will not only get them using their math skills whilst dealing with money, but will give them confidence in speaking to customers (with your supervision, of course). It can also be a fun activity for your children and their friends to experience together.

These are just a few of our ideas, we’d love to hear your plans for this summer!
